Passport To Fashion - St. Mary's Hospital Catwalk Show

February 1st, 2024 | 4:30pm - 7:30pm | Lake Oconee Church

Reinvented for the growing community, “Passport to Fashion” will be a catwalk show featuring fashion from around the globe, followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Models – many with deep ties to Good Sam and the surrounding community – will be wearing fashions provided by multiple retailers from around the lake country, Madison and Athens.

 

Lake Oconee Food and Wine Festival

March 15th, 2024 - March 17, 2024 | The Ritz-Carlton

The Lake Oconee Food and Wine Festival is a three-day event in Georgia that showcases over 200 wines from around the world, along with sought-after international liquors. It features talented chefs, culinary artists, and various performers creating a dynamic experience. The Big Event

March 16th, 2024 | 10:00am - 4:00pm | Lake Oconee Village

Get ready forThe Big Event on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Oconee Village in Greensboro, Georgia. The Big Event is a family-friendly festival and exhibition featuring 180 local businesses. It showcases home builders, suppliers, remodelers, and other industry businesses, including appraisers, pest control, mortgage companies, and more. In addition to home and garden vendors, the event also features arts and crafts vendors and a popular boat show. There is a designated Kids Zone with games, activities, and face painting for young children. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of food trucks and vendors, including Chick-fil-A, Southern Smoke Shack, Island Chef, and more. The event is free, rain or shine, and aims to educate and expose the Lake Oconee community to the services, products, and team members of the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association (LOABA).

 

13th Annual Firefly Trail Ticket to Ride + Union Point’s 120th Birthday Celebration

March 23rd, 10am - 3pm | Union Point

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, cyclists, bike enthusiasts, and area residents alike with be convening in Union Point for a day of celebrating milestones. This year, the City of Union Point celebrates not only the completion of the Firefly Trail between Union Point and Oglethorpe County, but Union Point’s 120th birthday. The city’s historic Union Theater will serve as a hub for event registration, refreshments and SAG support for cyclists, and as a starting point for the event. The birthday celebration will run in conjunction with live music, food trucks, vendor booths, tours of the city’s historical museum, 5K Fun Run, train ride for kids, and a book signing with well-known author and sports broadcaster, Tony Barnhart.

 

Sweet Tee Off Golf Tournament

March 25th, 2024 | 8am - 5pm | Harbor Club At Lake Oconee Golf Course

The Annual Sweet Tee Off Golf Tournament has consistently been a highly anticipated event organized by the Chamber. Not only does it provide golfers with the chance to participate in a competitive and enjoyable tournament, but it also serves as a relaxed atmosphere for networking and building relationships with other professionals in the community. The Chamber highlights numerous investors through sponsorships, including the Presenting Sponsor, Hole Sponsors, Lunch Sponsors, 19th Hole Sponsor, and others associated with different aspects of the tournament. The funds generated from the golf tournament are allocated towards four scholarships, one of which is specifically awarded to a graduating senior at Central Georgia Technical College.

 

Spring Tour Of Homes

April 19th & 20th, 2024 | 10am - 4pm | Madison-Morgan Cultural Center

Located in Georgia, Madison is a small town renowned for its beauty and charm. It is home to tree-lined streets and exceptional architecture, boasting one of the state's largest historic districts. The Spring Tour of Homes proves to be an ideal time to visit this delightful place, as it takes place when azaleas are in bloom and the parks and gardens are at their most vibrant. Visitors can enjoy this walking tour, guided by the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, which grants them access to a splendid collection of the town's most architecturally significant historic homes. The allure of Madison is undeniable, with its buildings dating back to the early and mid-nineteenth-century, drawing in visitors who inevitably fall under its spell.

 

Madison Fest

Celebrate the arrival of spring at Madison Fest on April 27! This free family-friendly event at Town Park features beautiful flowers, handmade arts and crafts, delicious food, live music, and more. Shop from over 75 local crafters and artists, enjoy tasty festival food, let your kids get creative in the crafting tent, and don't miss the Plein Air Paint Out. Plus, get an up-close look at Georgia's native reptiles with Tailshakers. Don't miss this exciting celebration of spring!

 

Southland Jubilee

April 20th, 2024 | 10am - 5pm| Downtown Greensboro

Come join Downtown Greensboro this April for the Southland Jubilee! Bring your family and friends and get ready for a day filled with fun and excitement. This festival has something to offer for everyone, with activities such as a car show, local vendors selling their unique products, delicious food trucks serving up tasty treats, and much more. Don't miss out on this amazing event!

 

Dairy Festival

Every June, the Dairy Festival takes place as a lively community celebration honoring the dairy industry and local dairy farmers. This festive event offers a range of activities including a road race, parade and tractor show, live entertainment, local vendors, and numerous other attractions.

 

Pickin’ on the Greene

Get ready for Pickin' on the Greene, happening in June right in the heart of Downtown Greensboro. Don't forget your blanket or chair as you make your way to the courthouse lawn. There, you can indulge in an evening of fantastic live music.

Celebrate the 4th of July at Lake Oconee! The firework shows around the lake are a must-see event, creating a stunning display of color and light that reflects off the tranquil water. Don't miss out on this enchanting celebration of America's independence.

 

Firefly Festival

July 26th and 27th, 2024 | Madison Town Park

Join Madison Main Street at Town Park on the last weekend in July for the Firefly Festival, a fun-filled event for families, musicians, and firefly enthusiasts. Enjoy a kids' night with activities like stilt walkers, music, face painters, and more on Friday, July 26. On Saturday, July 27, get ready for a 'date night' concert featuring The Sensational Sounds of Motown band.

 

Taste Of Eatonton

The Taste of Eatonton is an annual event that celebrates the culinary delights of Georgia's Lake Country and the Middle Georgia Region. This foodie extravaganza brings together restaurants, food trucks, and other food establishments to showcase their skills, create mouthwatering dishes, and offer their best treats to attendees. In addition to the delicious food, the event also features a car show, live local music, and a special VIP area.

 

A1A: Jimmy Buffett Tribute

October 12th, 2024 | 7:30 PM | Plaza Arts Center

A1A - The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show has been captivating audiences since its inception in 1991. Lead Vocalist and Guitarist, Jeff Pike, had already established a successful one-man tribute to Jimmy Buffett when he invited Atlanta Parrot Head Club and PHIP Founder, Scott Nickerson, to join him. The combination of their energy, musicianship, originality, and excitement has solidified A1A as the ultimate Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. Their annual 'Meet Me At The Plaza' show takes place in October on the Plaza Arts Center lawn. It promises to be a memorable outdoor performance that fans eagerly anticipate each year.

 

Rhythm & Brews Festival

Downtown Chili Cook-Off and Fall Festival

Join the fun at Madison's 17th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-off & CASI GA State Championship Open Cook-Off. Sample and vote for your favorite chili, shop the handmade/homegrown market, listen to great music, and enjoy a great day in Madison!

 

6th Annual Santa at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center

Holiday Parade & Caroling By Candlelight

The Christmas Holiday is being celebrated in Downtown Madison with a festive parade. The parade, featuring floats, walking groups, vintage cars, horses, dogs, and more. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to join in the fun by entering the parade, which is free to participate in. Following the parade, Madison Main Street is hosting the annual Caroling by Candlelight celebration in Town Park. Local choral groups, bands, and community-based musicians will perform holiday carols to create a joyful atmosphere, with attendees encouraged to join in and sing along. Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the Elves will also be present, providing an opportunity for children to meet Santa and share their Christmas wishes, or leave a letter for delivery to the North Pole.

 

Eatonton Christmas Parade
